Any LCOs in SoCal Care to Comment?

Wow, harsh! Guys, listen. Appreciate the help and understand the concern. Truth is, I really have no idea what cultivar I have and to diamondlandscaping's point, I haven't properly fertilized, dethatched or topdressed my lawn (gulp) ever so it's way overdue for some proper love. Whatever it is, it has finer blades than the really thick St. Aug you may be used to out east and thrives like you saw in the earlier photos cut to 1.5" during the L.A. summer months with my dull rotary (which I promise I'll keep/sharpen!) and no annual fertilization. The Trimmer cuts 1.25" at max height so my plan will be to use the rotary during the summer to cut @ 2" then go with the reel when it's cooler. Never had the $$$ for a professional LCO with agro knowledge like you guys (as opposed to non-licensed here in SoCal) so have done everything myself and have, fortunately, been able to get away with neglecting my lawn. Selling my car was the jump start I needed to focus on something else. Definitely a wealth of info on this site so I still have quite a bit of reading to do on leveling, dethatching, etc.

BTW, noticed that most of you are located east of here. Any LCOs or other Joe Homeowners like me in SoCal care to comment on how their St. Aug holds up cut <2" during the summer? And what cultivars are you using?

Welcome to the reel world!
Thx, stansoph! I forgot this thread was originally about the new vs. antique mower decision, LOL! Thank you for bringing it back on track! Yes, this most certainly qualifies as a "Nice Used" machine. Opted for "new" since I had a little extra $$$ from selling my car but plan to also pick up an older unit to do a reduction on some high spots (which I need to read up on).

I see you're in WA. Evergreen Turf is based out of Auburn, WA so I assume they've already started distributing production units up there?

I ordered one of those last week. They're a local company here in N GA. Hopefully I get it in the next few days.
