It can with the right adapter we just ordered an Oregon head with the stihl adapters 2 weeks back and installed it on a brand new stihl rx 100 to replace the 6 month old one that my idiot employee forgot to pin the week before.

To get back to the OP's original question, do some of you put a bolt/screw in the center of the head so that when you tap it on the ground it doesn't wear like plastic does?
