A Z-axis pivot has to be someplace on the unit -- either associated with the tow bar, or with each wheel. |

How well can it go 100ft backwards over uneven terrain?

UPDATE Next week I got an offer from my moms boyfriend to take me down to his brothers welding shop, so now my material cost is for wheels and bearings. But I already got 2 wheels and will be getting bearings within the week. I am headed for maryland now but will revise my design for hoppefully the last time!

You mean the one wheeled ones right? I want one that doesnt mess up my stripe and stays inside the tire tracks, ie why my design has an 18" floor board

I have A Rocket wheels made by the same people. Just a little different design. I don't mean to discourage your building and design but you need to rethink it some yet. From my observation you will NOT be able to back up more than a foot. Make sure your platform and center weight of the rider is putting juts a small amount of down ward pressure on the WB. My Rocket wheels are made wrong, there is to much lift on my WB causing the drive tired to loose traction. I got my Rocket used and plan to move the caster wheels back 2 or 3" to help with the traction. |

I went into sketchup today being back from vacation I had nothing else to do, I started from scratch with this page in one window and sketchup in the other, I compiled everyone's input, axis in their appropriate locations, downward pressure on the mower (slightly) still no idea when I feel like getting the metal and bushings to start on it, but for now I think that my design will work with all aspects of a marketed sulky. Pics below...
