I believe the paint has an effect on buildup. My old eXmark Lazer doesn't have a lick of paint left on the underside of the deck and will build up pretty bad still cuts good until the build up gets so bad it lets go and clumps go a flying. I demoed a new eXmark Lazer 2 weeks ago and it never had much buildup at least not enough to cut loose and leave clumps shooting out.

I just purchased a new Dixie Chopper Classic and it doesn't build up like my older eXmark Lazer does.

Yeah thats why Im thinking about repainting. The bad dispersement and cut quality doesnt happen UNTIL we begin to get the buildup under the deck but it doesnt stick NEARLY as bad on my new mower with a nice painted deck.

Just like you experienced.......

As for the post above about possibly it being because I have scag and not exmark..... I have an exmark metro 48 for our ditching mower and in tight areas and it has worn off paint and it accumulates clumpy debris faster than our scags so thats definetly not it. That mower was the same way actually, when we first got it we didnt have such problems.... Well not quite as often anyways...

I appreciate everyones replies. Gives me some things to think about....
