I would say stick to your guns. If you have a policy, and you bend it for one person, you will start doing the same for others, otherwise there's no point in having a policy in place. At the end of the day, you lost one customer who was wanting to pay you $70 a month for your services, for every one of him, there are 10 others who are willing to pay you what you are asking and according your scheduling. And as far as losing leads goes by turning him down, birds of a feather flock together. Of course, I am a licensed LCO in Tn, but I don't do this full time and my income isn't dependent on whether I accept a customer or not, so much. Just my two cents, but I think you did the right thing.

There is work to be done in the lawn every week, (all week.) upgrade your service and that will minimize on ingrates.

The lead seemed like a decent guy....but he really wanted you to service his lawn on his terms. You don't do every other week, so there was no agreement. Not sure why he kept going on and on. He can just find the next schmo on the list.

I still have a few EOW customers but prefer weekly. The first two questions I ask potential customers is do you have a sprinkler system and are you on a fertilizer program if the answer is yes then I recommend weekly. These are the customers I try to target at this point .
