You really should add more detail to your posts. Engine numbers for this thread would have been a good detail to start with.

Maybe a reason why you need to find another dealer would be a good addition to this post.

I've noticed a ton of problems with Kawi Starters. Exactly the problem the OP posts. My engines are FS541V and the starter will spin but not engage with the actual engine. My own opinion is that this is your sign the starter is on its last legs.

Oddly enough (and dangerous I guess) I found that if you douse the starter with water (like half a liter) it causes the starter to grab. Basically it will continue to grab a bit when wet.

Can be a handy trick to get you back home, or limp it for the week while your new one comes in. Water and electricity don't mix, so try at your own risk. This was just my experience.

You might want to get a battery with more CCA as an insurance policy. Last time I looked lawn tractor type batteries were selling for around $25 at Walmart. I'm pretty sure they have ones with more CCA than you've got. I'm going into my 3rd year on one right now.
