Scag FreedomZ Mulch and Stripe Kit
I was wondering if I needed to buy the Mulch Kit before I bought the Stripe Kit, for the Stripe Kit to work properly? I have a Scag 48 FreedomZ. Has anyone used these items on that mower and what kind of results did you get? Thanks for any input.

I have never heard of needing a mulch kit for a stripe kit to work properly. I have 3 mowers with stripe kits that work fine, with no mulch kits.

Thanks for the reply. I'm new to these type of mowers. I wasn't sure if the discharge grass would have any effect on the stripes. They proud of those different kits and they can get kinda expensive. Thanks.

Years that's for sure. Try searching this site for striping kits, many people, me included, have made their own that work just as good but much cheaper.

I have ate same mower with the 48in deck/ 19hp Kawasaki, and I don't even need a stripe kit. Have you tried striping without one?

@2stroked Not sure at exactly what your asking but i don't have a stripe kit yet but yours stripes without the kit? At what length do you cut yours? I cut mine at 1 3/4. i think i may be cutting it too short.
