Which is the best portable compressor for blowouts and why?

Can't tell which is the best but can tell you we purchased a kaeser screw compressor that does well.

I have 4 screw style compressors ,all diesel and 2 recipecating ( or rotory ) which are gas . Both types do the job well . The smallest cfm is 80 and the largest is 125cfm . All depends on what you want to spend and whats available at a good price . I prefer running the diesels since they are 3 times better on fuel . All my diesels are deutz air cooled and are a bit cranky after a cold night where the gas motor doesnt care a bit .

Rotary screw compressors are the standard now. More production from a smaller mass of machinery. Reciprocating pumps are old school, like my truck-mount.

Have you replaced any timing belts on those Deutz engines? I was told to replace every 3000 hrs or serious engine failure can happen if it breaks. Mine has just over 2000 hrs and wondered what it cost to replace.

I havent hit that many hours on 2 of them . The others dont have working hour meters . One that I picked up a 2cyl 100 cfm from my competition for 100 dollars, it caught on fire and melted the wiring harness and some hoses , it was mounted in a truck and has no covers on it . I put about 15 hours of repairs and 300 in parts , mounted it on a skid and painted it and it runs great . I will ask a diesel mechanic I know about the timing belts .
