Realize that these manuals are produced by a Technical Writer whose job is to crank out piles and piles documentation. They do “copy and paste”. The people that write these things make mistakes just like you and I. Like any other profession, some are good, some are bad, and some just don't have a clue. Operators manuals are kind of like the INTERNET, just because you read it, dozen’t mean it's true.

Yea, on that I would completely agree. However, whatever is in the manual however, the manufacturer must stand behind. (Mistakes and all).

On another note, my old mower took a dump, engine rebuild and electric clutch lost a bearing. Took much $$$ to put into a cheap tractor so I bought a new Simplicity. It states "set the throttle to FAST position" and "engage the PTO." (Nothing about what speed to use when disengaging, I suppose doesn't matter.)

I checked my SZ manual last night. It say 3/4 throttle engage and "less than 1/2" to disengage.
