I can't believe someone from up north would ever do something so dumb. Then you have another guy that states this quote,

"Like if you are welding, you fill a tank full of diesel fuel you can weld it,” Russell said. “but if you have an inch or two of space in there where fumes can get in, it’s just like a bomb went off."

Really? WTF are they even thinking about welding on a fuel tank when it's full of fuel? There's a right way and a wrong way. Empty the tank and fill with water. I've done a bunch of fuel tank repairs this way.

I wished I saw this Idea 35 years ago. I did something similar but not as good. I sold the Timber off 80 some acres and was left with stumps. I use # 10 cans I got from a big restaurant. I cut the ends out and punched holes in the sides. Placing the can on top of the stump I fill it with Charcoal to start the Coal. I had multiply stumps burning at the same time and would run between them with a Blower. These were Pine stumps and Timing was important to take advantage of the Pine Pitch.

Big problem in my area is getting coal. Charcoal just doesn't get Hot enough. BTW the # 10 Can would melt from the coal heat.

But I would be careful telling people(especially online)about pouring diesel fuel on the stump/ground. I'm pretty sure that's illegal anywhere in the country, especially as a business owner. Funny thing is growing up I lived on a dirt road and the town use to pour used oil on it to keep the dust down. Man those days are over!!
Diesel fuel can be tank mixed with herbicides per label.
