*Commercial.

Didn't you have a contract?

Residents do it too, the neighbor comes over and takes care of the grass cut, tells the homeowner it's free and acts like they're doing them such a big favor, puts smiles on everybody's face... Until I get there... You see, I have a contract with them.

And what I see is a hack job, the blades were set so low there are clumps of grass everywhere, uneven deck meaning they scalped in spots and just from the look of things it sure appears as if they tried to get in and out of there in record time, probably the tires had unevenly matched psi's as well because the grass is almost to the dirt in spots and little of the rest looks a whole lot better, a marine hair cut isn't much shorter, no lines at all and no edging and no trimming, just the grass got cut, oh and still there's crap all over the driveway and sidewalks...
Cost to fix: Same as usual.

Wow.
I'm going through some of the same stuff.
A buddy of mine and a member on here sent me a link to this thread.
I've worked for most of my time without signs or business cards because I was comfortable with the commercial accounts I had.
They've irritated me to the point that I have both now, new cards and some fantastic signs.
Plus if that jackhole gets reelected,..........I'm going cash baby. No more 1099's.
When your guts get tied in knots when you see a certain number on your phone and you start to have fantasies about aluminum bats and teeth,.....it's time.
I've actually turned that into a landscape (trees too) killing fantasy.

The hoon in me is coming to the surface.

I have a client that wanted biweekly mowing. I told them it would look horrible in the growing season they didnt care. So when the season started and there was clippings everywhere they would call and complain. I would say what do you want me to do make the grass not grow? Tried to get me to bag. Sorry but I only bag in the fall.

Then the next problem was vines growing through the fence. Somehow they think spring clean up is cutting vines out of 5000 ft of fence. When that didnt work they tried to get me to cut down a 75x30 section of bamboo. lol. What the hell does that have to do with mowing? These people are crazy.

I have a service agreement which is in line with my residential stuff , additional stuff requires its own estimate which goes to a "board" the same board who declined to go seasonal.

The first time I mentioned it would be additional work, they balked. Then with the bamboo they took a bid but didnt hire me or anyone else for it. I knew before I even submitted it they wouldnt.

The biweekly was just them being cheap. I wasnt going to bag because they didnt want weekly cuts. If they mentioned it from the get go I wouldve did it a higher rate.

Sounds like have a poorly written agreement. How can they tell you to stop cutting if you have an agreement? If I had an agreement with them and they wanted to maintain the bushes then great..saves me money but my pay is the same..same with mowing. No more lawn maintenance....fine but my pay stays the same.

I would say thank you to them.
