I am hoping the above "too stupid" comment is a broad generalization because for the life of me I could give 2 $hitz about paying to test my oil for contaminants in a small engine. You aren't running Detroit Diesels here, you are running 2000 dollar small engines. On top of that if a guy changes his oil or if he doesn't isn't the be all end all of the motor. It needs to have oil and weather or not it has impurities or metal flakes or water or piss in it doesn't matter one bit to me.
Small engines run in high heat and dirt. Thats what kills them. Change the oil, change the filter and keep the 30 bucks in your pocket. I have a brother in law that ran a 3 cylinder car on its original oil for 4 years. No tests, no filter changes and he put 62000 miles on it. He sold the car and it still ran for 5 more years.
No sir I am not too stupid to consider something new and additionally I am not too stupid to know when not to waste my money.
Change you oil, change your filters, grease your zerks and mow some lawn.
