Ruud/ Luma After Sunset
Can't seem to find any info anymore about the Luma After Sunset line or even any low voltage Ruud fixtures online. Tried the Ruud site and came up empty. Did they disconinue their low voltage lines? Did someone buy them out?
I have a customer with some problem fixtures and wanted to see if I could find a solution besides replacements. The main problem is a squarish boxy in-ground uplight. Several of these on the property. Uses an MR 16. Has a shroud that sticks up vertical. Every one of these has some standing water in it, even though there's just minimal irrigation. I will share a couple of photos in my next post. The other one is this doggone outdoor track light. It was used stand-alone, no track. ![]() One was used over a gate, in an arbor, and for the life of me I can't get the dang thing apart to relamp it. I'm wondering if it was intended to be considered disposable, because it has not set screws, and although it looks like there's a lens ring that might unscrew, the sucker won't budge.

![]() Water inside... ![]() Disassembled... shroud on left, lens with louver (upside down), aluminum reflector, rectangular socket, upright bracket w/ MR-16, all somewhat corroded. Replaced this one with a Vista 2219 today, but others are still working with some water in them.

Gregg. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to upgrade the client's system. Why mess around with trying to repair less than premium product? Your efforts will probably cost more in labour alone than the purchase price of those fixtures.
I just did an assessment on a 20 year old system yesterday. A bit of everything and none of it great. I am not going to entertain repairing it as I don't want the hassles and call backs. Posted via Mobile Device |

To better answer your question: Ruud Lighting was acquired by Cree on August 17th 2012 for $525 million. It would appear they have moved quickly to dump all of the old product that Ruud was known for and update the company.
Try searching ebay for some of the product you are looking for as I would expect some distributors must have been left with inventory.

Thanks! I found a transformer diagram/ manual at the E-conolight site too. They have permanently installed Grasslin timers that go bad, just like old Nightscaping Powercenters.
Looks like they are still recommending using #10/3 cable too. http://www.e-conolight.com/pdf/Instr...s/CI147X03.PDF
