I must say I agree with you. There are several posting on here that tend to forget there was a time when they didn't know everything, and refuse to acknowledge they still don't.

I'm more impressed you asked for advice at midnite and 10 hours later you had received notice you won. On a Saturday no less. That's impressive.

The price you got it for is nice. What equipment you running to get the job done? Some people around here would charge $144. Personally I would of been at the $450 range. Don't let a few arrogant bad apples ruin things for you. It seems they are grumpy old men or someone keeps peeing in their Cheerios. Good luck to you and hopefully they pay with in a timely manner.

I don't know that anyone else's price would be all that relevant in the first place. Having a lower cost to do the job (say you're doing sports fields nearby with a 15 foot batwing and don't even need to trailer to get there vs guys that need to travel 30 mins each way and using walkbehinds...as an extreme example) doesn't make you a low baller. Your profit margins to do the job may in fact be much higher than someone who would quote the job higher but have far higher costs.

Since no one has the same costs, it doesn't really matter. Cover your costs and desired profit for any particular job, keep working providing a value and you'll be fine.

Congrats on winning the job, btw...hopefully it represents a good value to your client and a good opportunity for you so that you can both continue together for many seasons to come.
