Absolutely, I have seen they employee part first hand. I have a current helper that has a truck who I have worked out a deal with. He makes decent money for the little bit of work we currently have (and i cover a large chunk of his vehicle maintenance) but i found out early with him his role needed to be very clearly defined. He now has a written guide as to what to do / what not to do / safety procedures / equipment procedures / conduct expectations. He is certainly not the best employee, and he has limited capabilities but once I am in a position to no longer needing his truck he will be kept on for a while to see how it goes.
