I am just a Walker Fanatic and I have always loved talking about the famed "Euro Deck"

I have actually been looking hard at the larger SD decks recently in trying to determine how I can go about handling more wide open and larger accounts...

I feel for you guys in New Zealand not being able to have the access to the equipment that we do...

Do you know of anyone in your area who currently runs the "Euro Deck"?

Yep, pretty much all of us do. I have three of them! it's not so much a lack of access to decent machinery for us down here, it's the extortionate prices we have to pay.

The eurodeck gives far superior performance in long, thick and wet grass, nothing else on the market comes close. It rains a fair bit here so wet weather performance is important. I run 42in decks solely; mowing speed is largely dictated by the volume of grass that will go through the blower and we seldom run full speed so bigger decks just block more often. Our grasses are predominantly coarser rye cultivars than is common in the US too which can be tough to achieve a clean cut on.

We do a lot of collection mowing; for the bigger areas we run a couple of Gianni Ferarri T4's. Italian machines, great performance and huge productivity but have found reliability is an issue. What machines do you guys use for large area collection mowing?

I used to run the 74" on athletic fields as a back up when my main ZTRs went down for service.

But on larger residentials, 56RD is where it's at, IMO

T...

Are you talking about the 52 reverse direction?

Or a 56 rear discharge?

What do you think about the 62 side discharge?
