Let's just say the older SG, SL, and SJ motor oil ratings where a better choice for outdoor power equipment than the newer SN and SM ZDDP weakened oils [exception is Mobil 1 15w-50]. Also reduced Molly does have an impact.

It will not say specifically not to use it in certain engine or application, hell, the manufacturer of the oil don't care what you put their oil in its up to you to educate your self on what the best oil is for your application, but as posted elsewhere, water cooled engines have different tolerances than a air
cooled engine and maybe why lawn equipment manufactures don't specify motorcycle oil in lawn equip.
I'm no petroleum engineer for sure, but like everyone else with a opinion I do what I think works best for me, you can do what you want, I'm out'a here
