BG,
You oughta consider a Quick 36 Samurai as a replacement for the belt-drives. Lighter (~300 lbs), more compact, easier to handle, doesn't tear up the turf, great quality of cut and you can drive it through the creek if you want to... Our hydro goes in any conditions and gives you a true (and instant) reverse. Also, because of our hydro and big tires, it'll climb (or go down controllably) hills that'll leave a belt-drive slipping. 16 HP Kai, electric start, $2595.

FWIW... We've got a major west coast LCO converting their entire fleet of belt drives (~180 trucks) over to Quick 36 Sams. They've shopped (and used) them all and think ours is the best deal out there. We agree.

Just a thought.
