Forget smell with a gallon every 6 minutes you are talking fire and a big fire at that. The hour meter can not be right.

I may have an answer. Are we talking "engine hours" or "PTO hours"?

I have ran into machines that hour meter ONLY ran when the PTO was on. It showed PTO run time and not engine run time. You could run the engine all day and if you did not switch on the PTO it will still show the same time all day long. Not sure why some machines are wire that way.

Give the the model and serial number, I am going to look up the wiring for this thing

You have to have a fuel leak somewhere.
With that much fuel leaking you are going to have a fire.
No smell, noting leaking. If it was leaking, i would see burn marks inthe grass and gas in my trailer

If you go to page 35 you will see a picture of a fuel tank. The C.A.R.B./ EPA Phase 3 fuel tank has a large air space at the top of the tank. This could be messing with your 'fill it to the top' fuel test you are doing.

So, when I called the other day to see if it was ready, they told me there was water in the system an that is why I had crappy gas consumption. When I picked it up, they said nothing about water; all they said was that they went throught the entire system and found nothing.

After I picked it up, I went across the street and filled up the tank at 27.3 hours. I filled the tank this morning at 31.6 hours and it took 6.234 gallons(1.45 gal/hr)!

However, today I mowed a couple of small lawns, and at 32.0 hours the tank was at 3/4...

I am lost at this point
