Yeah, it went over my head.
Even with your "clues" I remain clueless.

I cut some forsythia back in a yard I got stung in several weeks ago.

I think it took 20 minutes to cut a 5 foot section right where the yellow jacket came from when I was stung.

Extended trimmer. Cut, retreat, forward thrust, retreat, scan area for pi$$ed off insects, forward cut, retreat. Lather, rinse, repeat.

At least I didn't get nailed again.

I've got to cut like a half mile of Viburnum on Monday...I didn't notice any nests last week, but I guarantee there's some in there...just the way it is. Not looking forward to that.

I just got swarmed by yellow jackets today. Trimming some ivy with the weedeater and I guess I hit the nest. I just dropped it and took off running. Luckily when it fell the choke turned itself and it died, otherwise it would have been idling there for about ten mins. Didn't get stung any!

We've gotten attacked by ground bees a few times this season. Benadryl is always on hand. www.branchoutshrub.com

I've been nailed by Yellow Jackets and Wasps more this year than any time I can remember. I hit a nest Thursday while trimming a slope and got swarmed....multiple stings on my right ankle. I had to call my Son and have him come out and meet me to finish my route because I was in so much pain trying to walk. I did pop some Benadryl and Advil right away but it still swelled up a lot.
