I mow with all 60" Toros.Ones a z500 and the other a grandstand.I have very few scalping issues and seem to scalp less with grandstand.Like said before u just have to follow contours in the yards.

I'd say go with a 60, just like Jim said learn to float, we run all 60's and 2 72's and never have a problem with scalping you just need to learn how to float and work with the ground.

I am going to recommend 52. I was faced with this same decision a couple of years ago. I went with the 52 and am glad I did. realistically the difference in 52 and 60 is 4 inches on either side of the deck. Not much. Does a 52 cut better? Sure it does, but it's not a huge difference. The smaller the deck the better the cut - ALWAYS. Unless everything you are cutting is totally flat and then it doesn't matter.

scalping should not be an issue if your deck is set up properly for either size mower.

You really need to look at your yards to make this decision. I have a lot of gated back yards that my 52 just makes it through. There is no way a 60 would fit, but everyone has different scenarios with their yards. I actually went and did some measuring in my client's yards just to see before i bought. If I had bought a 60 my 36 would get a lot more use.

Well look around at your area too. I would say a 60. There are so many companies in my area that ONLY have 60's. A guy around here sets up 4 60's side to side on his trailer. They can go anywhere a 52 can, atleast in most situations and you save a little bit of time. Just my 2 cents.

I'm going to say go with the 60" as well. If you didn't have the 40", I'd say go 52", but since you have a smaller mower, go with the bigger deck. I strongly recommend a Turf Tracer 60" with ECS, but a Lazer Z is just as good.
