Anyone use this on a string trimmer? How well does it work? Is it worth buying it? Thanks

I bought one a few years ago but never installed it. I realized that it wouldn't go on my trimmer trap without some crazy modification. I had seen another lco down the street using one and got excited about how fast he could edge the sidewalk. I noticed later that every time he edged the grove got bigger and it was starting to look like a trench so I lost interest.

The above post is correct, another problem I found with them is that they will create a vacuum under the trimmer head effectively adding another few pounds of pull down. Once I got used to the downward pull and having to change back to my old stihl head I stillcouldn't use it on my trimmer rack and gave up.

Edgit is the bomb. I love it. I can all but run and trim curb/walkways. In my eyes, it's like a mini 12 inch mower once you learn to use it. The added pull is minor from the vacuum it creates when it is actually pulling the grass blades up and cutting them. If your good at trimming with a Edgit, you could mow a lawn with it and have it look good. The person that mentioned a guy using it making the edge wider like a trench isn't using it correctly. I've never had that problem with weekly use. I've had a few guys stop me to see what it was in the past few years and none even knew about it. Now they all have them. I see their truck/trailer and it's on the trimmer. LOL If you learn to use it the correct way, it saves a lot of time trimming and edging. The only set back is a sharp 90 degree corner. It just can't get it but those are few and far between on my properties I service so it's not a big deal for me. It took me a good month to really get a grasp on how it works and the technique needed to utilize the use of it. Now It actually saves me time. I'm going to knock on wood now before I say, I've beat the crap out of it and it still works great. I read others say they broke a piece off or thought it didn't work right. I blame user error.

I agree about the wide edge. I fixed mine by going back to the stock head but it sucks. My overall experience was that it worked well for what it was but didn't fit my style well. It also didn't fit my FS100rx trimmers. The one I was running was a loner from a friend to try out.

Love the edgit - Hope no one buys them though - I like them having to work harder than me...
