You will be surprised. Hill side stability is great and no sliding while mowing across steep hills which is where most standers fail. The front end does not come off the ground when climbing, another normal stander down fall. The only issue I had was trying to turn while going down a steep hill I got some sliding. Straight down a hill no problems. Also backing out of a ditch traction could be better. Body position has a lot to do with how a stander performs. So I will update my review as I get better.

One of the bolts on my brake bands broke so i dropped it off to be fixed and he had it for over a week and instead of taking an easyout and getting broke bolt out he just put new brake assembly on and charged almost $500. The wildcat started messing up and we were slammed so i dropped it off and he said the carb was stopped up so all he did was clean carb and charged $450. I get it home and the bolts are stripped to hell and had to fix it before the throttle cable would work. My scag dealer is 45 minutes away. I love scags but wanting a change which stander should i purchase. John deere dealer is 5 minutes down the road,Gravely dealer 30 minutes away or i can go 1.5 hours to a toro/exmark dealer,. I'm leaning to the Gravely Prostance. Or would you guys stay with scag? Thanks for your replies
I have 2 Scag cubs bought from different dealers and one went out of business 1 year after I bought it. Second dealer dropped the Scag line. So if I need warenty work I have toe drive 35-50 miles to the nearest Scag dealer. I just learned to work on my mowers myself.

In this business, dealer support is critical. I'd drop the Scag and go with someone else. I've run Gravely for 9 years with very few problems, but have no experience with the stander. I think the longest I've ever had to wait for a part was over the weekend (part ordered on Thursday), but my dealer has loaners (a Gravely program), so that really isn't an issue.

I think The pro stance is on top of my list for sure now. Found out about fleet program so might have to buy more stuff if this is what I decide to do. Since my dealer doesn't carry the pro stance in stock how would I be able to demo one? Thanks guys for all the input

Your dealer should contact the Gravely area rep. They should be able to get you a demo.

If the Deere dealer is only 5 minutes away go take a serious look at them. the cut quality of the 7 iron decks are right there with the scag velocity. If I had 7k I would run to the Deere dealer and drive the 667a they have sitting in the showroom home.
