First day wearing the Redwing irish setters: they were great, I walked in a ton of yards that were flooded and full of mud, they handled it well, the traction is great, and comfort is 100x better then my Brahma's from walmart. Once fully broken in I'm sure it will be even that much better.

are we still on this thread?

My wife got a job at Bass Pro shops.
SO she gets a steep discount off Bass Pro shops brands at the store.

So I pretty much wear Redhead gear now, as much as I can.

Discount is more impressive than Darth Vader.

I second Easy-Lift-Guy. I bought cheaper boots to start and even tried some Merrell work/hiking shoes, but I can't get enough of Redwing's. Granted I don't work everyday, but I got 7-8 years out of my last ones until they started falling apart, and I treated them very well, just bought a new pair, hope to get 5+ out of them. I do a mixture of Lawncare, Farming, and Construction. Unfortunately, they aren't cheap, but if you get 4-5 years out of them $40+ a year isn't bad.
