I really think I've figured out a good bidding scheme for homes that have a good amount of detail work. I've been quoting a price for lawn and hedges, and then give an hourly rate for pruning, detail, etc. I tell people how much time I feel will be necessary for the hourly work and let them tell me how many hours to put in. It's worked well on the last 2 bids.

One of those I picked up today. We don't have to cut grass. We are going to start with 2 MH/Week and maybe add a little more time here and there. This was another Angie's List job.

Here's my Solandra espalier that was started in May if I remember correctly. It has grown a little bit. I hit it with 20-20-20 a few months ago and put some more granular on it today. I was told that once it roots well it grows like crazy. It is going to look killer once it frames the entirety of the window. It has a big yellow flower that looks like a balloon. Really cool.

Here is a Gardenia I cleaned up last week. This took 1.25 hours to do.

WHOA! Hot as heck out.

Will be Aerating and doing our final topdressing of the year tomorrow on that Zoysia lawn. I'm glad too cause we have to wheelbarrow the sand from the street to the back and with this heat and humidity it is brutal. Ill post pics tomm.

Yes, they are irrigated but we don't need much irrigation down here during our 6 month summers. We have had a boatload of rainfall all year. Not one dry spell at all.

Topdressing down here can be done from end of March all the way till beginning of October. I have been topdressing this lawn since April.

Well, didn't take pics as I was way too tired.

Made just under $700 for 4 hours of work with my employee and myself.

Been very busy. Got hooked up with a solid account from a friend who doesn't do high-end resi homes. $1,245/mo. 2 different Bermuda Varieties. One is on a putting green. They have 3 Green's Mowers I can use. Fichus/Gardening extra.

Really glad we are close to October. Not like things will slow down, but temps will get better. It was a long summer.
