Here's a progress pic from today. We still have two months left on this site with plantings, hardscape, lighting, and irrigation.

I want to make it out to your next seminar. I have a lot of questions.

With only a couple install crews, how many of these large projects do you do in a season?

Its hard to really put a number on it. It does vary year to year. Our projects have increased in size, but we still do some smaller ones as well. We can see the larger ones coming, as they do take alot more time internally to design, estimate, etc. Sometimes we do 3-4 a year, sometimes less, sometimes more.

One of the things we discuss at the open house is the logistics of these, from initial phone call through completion. We've learned a tremendous amount over the years.

I had the chance to hear Marcus as a speaker in a small class at this past winter's KNLA (Kentucky Nursery and Landscape Assoc.) meeting.... GREAT session. While most people were in a huge auditorium learning about weeds and mulch, only a few of us listened to Marcus and I guarantee his message and teachings are somewhat more important to young business owners than cedar vs. cypress.

At the time, he was developing some pretty neat overhead recovery and estimating software.

We had a great time at the open house the last two days. Dinner together Thursday night, meeting my staff, alot of time in my conference room talking about some great topics and a site visit to this great project.

It was fun getting to know everyone and I'd say we all learned alot.
