kawasaki fh500v wont turn over.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Mower died after I started it and got about 50 feet. Took back to shop tested.

fuel pump: good
fuel is getting to the bowl
fuel solenoid working properly.
choke closes all the way.
cleaned carb

put back together and it will still not start. It will start if I spray carb cleaner or gas into the carb opening. But dies when it burns it up.

Just want to try everything before I order a new carb.

Have you tried cleaning the carb--sounds like a carb obstruction to me.

Check to see if the floats are sticking or if the needle valve is marred

I have cleaned out the bowl and checked the float and needle. Disassembled and cleaned out jets, etc.

How did you test this solenoid ?

Sure sounds like your not getting fuel to the main jet or it's plugged completely......

plugged it in and grounded it to the mower. Turned the key and it retracted. When I turned the key off it came back out. I to thought that the main jet was clogged but I have now taken it apart twice and soaked it and blew it out with air. I am no farther with it than before I took it apart. Makes no sense.
