Ill bet you started at one corner snd measured distance around a rectangle for your measurements.

From the 4 dimensional equation to the point of clarification ,,, that it is NOT really an equation and whether it is ft, yds, or inches that is being expressed,,, is weird enough,,, but then you see people trying to solve it... The cubic triangles is a simplification for sure...

BTW,,, The square footage of 4 separate areas would be ADDED not multiplied as indicated in the OP...

To danged difficult. Why not just measure length times average width equals SF. 80 bags of mulch will cover 1000 sf, 2" thick and you will not introduce weeds seeds that accompany bulk mulch.

Well for one, it's not mulch - it's for topsoil. Secondly, I'm trying to be as accurate as possible.
