I need the money and I'm burnt for sure but this is what I do. I have some new ideas that I hope will bring some better hope in 2014.

BIG BAD MISTAKE not calling back. You need a 'check up from the neck up' if you really want to be in business. I used to do advertising for contractors. Do you know what the #1 complaint is from customers? CONTRACTORS THAT DO NOT CALL BACK. Also, the generation that preceded us had a saying "The Customer is Always Right". In this case if you really do not want the job, give them a high price. Like the price you would do it for if you really had to do it. The customer may like you, and still give you the job! At the worst, they still have your name, know what you are like and may call you in the future. Like a previous post said, "otherwise the phone may stop ringing". PS: I may be your competitor. Imagine that I DO call people back. Who wins the jobs and referrals?
