Hour meter is stuck. Why?

I just bought a 2007 Cub cadet M48 tank, and the hour meter is 'stuck' at 337.5 hours. Any idea why?

It appears to be just like the one on my M60 mower that shows rpm when the engine is running, then displays hours when not. The M48 display never changes...

If it's getting power, then I reckon it's time to put in a new meter.
If no power to it, then maybe ya got wiring issues.

I would say get a wiring diagram and start tracing things. Not sure I ever saw one of those digital ones stop like that. Usually they just break and dont display anything or they work.

If it shows RPM it probably has a wire wrapped around a spark plug wire...maybe that wire has come off or been cut.

It might be your charging system. That's the same issue I had with my Scag. Did you have any problems with your battery going dead. If so, that's your charging system not keeping the battery charge. It all lead to the hour meter too. My hour meter was stuck on 39.

It's often the simplest things; it was nothing more than the wire fell off the underside of the switch. When I took the panel off, there it lay disconnected.
