The rear tires will need replacing.... Add $1K or so to the price. Otherwise it looks in decent shape.

Personally, the only diesel I would purchase is an I6, limited to Dodge/RAM. I'd take a Ford or GM gasser over the Dodge. I've had great luck with Ford gas engines over the years, from a 2V 5.4L (sold with 245K miles) to a 2V 3.0L V6 (traded in with 305K miles). My current Dodge 5.9L gas V8 holds its own at 148K miles, but is starting to show the abuse I've put it through.

I know guys who run fleets and all light/medium V8 diesels are a mixed bag in terms of maintenance. However, cost to replace parts is high. Every time the vehicle breaks down, factor in a tow, part cost and labour you'll look at $1K per repair easily with a diesel. If I stuck with a Ford as a dump, I'd find a V10 with perhaps 4.88 gears for better in town performance, where I would use it the most.
