That's still a small area. Unless you OWN a mini SS then I would pitch fork it into your truck or trailer. No need in spending to much money on a rental if you don't need to.

You better go measure it your self Then you will know size of it and you can look at it to see what is all planted Take a pic and post it

Landscape rake only a few inches out onto a big tarp and drag the old mulch to a spot that it may be okay to use it. Then add the new mulch.

if you have a leaf vac that is the way to go, we do that all the time. it will pick it up in no time. with no damage to plantings or trees.
