Ditto with the mulching this season, a bunch. Something to do when the mowers sit.

I'm a "mowing only" business, so the drought has effectively reduced my income to almost nothing, which is OK because I am in a position where it won't put an undue strain on me financially. Kudos to you guys that are able to take lemons and make lemonade by doing other type of work, and ultimately repair drought damage.

As for those other mowing only businesses out there, I don't agree that a lot will jump back in next spring. I doubt many people get into any business totally on the spur of the moment, which means most guys probably think about it for a few months or even a year or two before they jump in. Seeing a severe drought this year, will, in my opinion, scare a lot of them off for a couple of years. Eventually, everyone will forget, and they will crawl out of the woodwork again, just not next year, in my opinion. If the drought persists, next year, in my opinion, will be a good one for those able to survive.
