Reasons not to go with the others, #1 high hours on motor, #2 you don't need a 31hp motor and you will be drinking gas like crazy for no reason, #4 is a MC which is a homeowner quality unit. Great machine for a homeowner but not a MT which is where you want to be if you are a commercial mower.

Being you are 16 I give you credit on doing research. Learn from this, buy something that works for your business and don't buy junk based on price. Sure you can own a name but the machine has to be able to perform. Over time you will be able to see that a mower that is up and running consistantly is making you money. Buy the best you can and if that means buying new and keeping it for 15 years then do it. Think about how much money that machine will make you over 15 years. Good Luck.

You are very wrong about the MC. The MC is more or less the same mower as the MT minus the double wheel, the 23 hp engine, the clamshell style, the instrument control panel, and a few other minor details such as the muffler cover. You are still getting the same deck, same blower, same catcher, same hydros, same control system. There is about a $1100 difference between the Model C and T, in which your getting all the extra bells and whistles that the T has. The Model C is definitely not a homeowner quality mower, I dont know many homeowners buying $10,000+ mowers. The only reason i like the MT more is the double wheel and instrument control panel, but the MC is still excellent and i am most likely going to buy one next year.

If you have the money buy the used Model C without a doubt. If not, finance a new one with sheffield financial. 0% for 48 months, no down payment, and also no payments until April 2013. So you more or less have the machine from now until April and dont have to pay a penny. It makes sense to go this route but if you have the money buy used.

I wouldnt go EFI. Just my opinion, too complicated and too expensive to fix.

I already have a Scag Pro V 48" walkbehind with bagger. It's almost impossible to bag the amount of leaves we have here with just a side discharge shooting into a bag. It makes a mess everywhere with the leaves. I need to quickly mow, bag, and then dump at the street to be more efficient.
Great choice-Pro V!!!I ran one for a while as a loaner and loved it. The Walker is the best in the market at what it does but, like everyone says, it's a very specialized machine. If you're going to dedicate that kind of money to a mower, you'll have to have certain clientel and stick to only that type of mowing. If I were going to mow high end residential and some rough cut also, I suggest a 46-48" Exmark with a bagger-very versatile machine with a great cut. Good Luck!!!

No matter which one you chose stick your hand in that blower housing and see how deep that grove is, also check to see if it has the udate on the starter bolts, ground wire and oil temp sensor

With all of your experience at 16 you have obviously become an expert. I don't see a Walker in your stable of equipment.
I am not getting in a pissing contest with a kid but many of us here have EFI engines and your last comment in dispensing information is way off base. Once again why you have to know who you are talking too here. Good night.

I work in a Walker dealer 6 days a week so I have credibility. Which portion of my last comment is off base? Because last time I checked the MC is not a homeowner machine. And I am not bashing the EFI, just not sure if I would buy one used as they are very complicated systems.

So I see and work on more Walkers in a day then you will see in a year.

Im not gonna get in a pissing contest with a guy that cant take some criticism.

I stand by by recommendations and my opinions. Now I am done with this pre school conversation. It is getting crowded on this site and I see lots of my old friends have moved on, I am learning why.

I agree with you on that. I took about a 1.5 yr. break from this site, came back, and within less than 2 wks I've started running into the same BS. Everyone is an overnight expert in the Green Industry-that's a generalized statement.

From what I've seen I like how well they can bag wet grass and the leaves, and the beautiful cut they leave. I'd like to know the pros and cons, from the people that own them. Thanks - Mike

I was kind of surprised over the years to have three different dealers volunteer that they have more reliability issues. I can't verify it as I never owned one.

They can get pretty pricey. I'd use one only if doing fine turf, and even then it'd be nice to have another midmount around for high speed chop/drop mowing and rough stuff like first time cuts on overgrown properties.

You might compare them with the Exmark version, if they still make them.
