Didn't they try that at one point? I remember something about it when I was a kid, and it just plain confused everyone. The time change has passed. Now there's just to many people, and lots of immigrants. The ones we here I'm not sure what uses thier country for measurement. And no its not Hispanics.

I can live in hope! Needing two types of spanners to work on a ztr is a pita!
That said, I bought a set of Metrinch impact sockets... Wonderful!

If we were not an industrial giant and despite some beliefs we still are. Then switching to the metric system might have happened. But our machine tool industry is based on thousands and ten thousands of an inch that is not going to change. Our buildings are measured in inches and feet not going to change. Our land is measured in acres which is a 640th of a square mile. The entire country is measured in sq ft. It's not so much that it won't happen it's more that it really cannot happen. Sure we will import the stuff that was made with that system but few here manufacture anything in metric and far fewer still are domestic companies when it does happen.

This happened to me a few years back. Customer went on and on about a small company that had given them an estimate, "people said they were hacks, they didn't seem to know what they were doing and so on....." I let them go on their rant until they mentioned the name and I was like "hey I know that kid, he's alright, he does great work and is always friendly at bid openings and walkthroughs...." Needless to say I didn't get the job. Also, why do most customers think they are the ONLY account we have and we should drop everything to have a meaningless meeting or do some mundane task that could have been completed during our normal rounds?
