I just purchased a used Vermeer 600tx today and I love the machine. Anytime I have had to use a small skid I have always rented the dw and that thing is a beast. I bought the Vermeer for two reasons, 1 the price I got a 2006 with 1200 hours and the Diesel engine for 4800 bucks and 2nd the controls and comfort of the Vermeer blow away all the other walkbehinds or ride on skid loaders. The ditch witch does have more power and an additional pump but now I will be putting more money into my pocket rather than the rental company's. I also got a grading rake with the deal.

Bobcat and dingo are light on the turf, the downside is you are either walking or getting beat up by the stand on platform. That peice of metal sticking out is extremely hazardous too. we nicknamed it the "ankle breaker" because one bad turn with you walking behind it will wrap your foot under it. The vermeer on par with the ditch witch, but in my own experience my knees took a beating on the vermeer. I also don't like the auto shut off on vermeer when you step off the machine. Ditch witch sk750 with the wide platform is the winner IMHO. If I had the money id get the sk850, but that's a big chunk of change for a few unnecessary hp.

My rental spot recently got a Vermeer s450tx and the controls are the best of the few I've run(Dingo & Bobcat). In fact I had to rent a Dingo recently and HATED the controls. I'd like to try out one of the Vermeer units with a little more beef.
