Run the piece dry. Add a LITTLE Trufuel to get it started and store. Don't need to fill it. TF has special conditioners that preserve fuel lines and gaskets. Its high in detergent and helps dissolve varnish and carbon while in storage. Its way more than just ethanol free gasoline. I trust it for 40k of winter toys, but what do I know.

That's my plan for this winter, pretty much what you said. I live in Montreal Canada and winters are long. Blower and chainswaw can be used late in the fall but the other stuff can easily go 5+ months of no use in the winter. I figure 2 maybe 3 cans of TruFuel will be enough, putting about 5-6 ounces in each piece, running them a couple of minutes and storing for the winter.

If this gives me trouble free equipment for many seasons, the $15 to $20 of TruFuel each fall will be a bargain.
