Exactly, there is absolutely ZERO chance of delivering a calibrated precise amount of product evenly. Sure you would dump the required per 1000 sq feet of chemical but it would vary all over the place within the area treated and you would have no way of knowing. Not to mention like everyone said it would look and would be totally unprofessional. Don't try and re invent the wheel.

Anything can be calibrated. I calibrated mine. Of course the flow rates will be different for different chemicals, i've noticed, different viscosities/densities. Just disregard the pre-set settings. Besides, those are useless unles you know how many GPA you are appying.

I've used my Ortho dial and spray to spray liquid iron, UAN, moisture manager, tracker SPF, fungicide, etc on my own lawn so far, just to experiment. I just can't find a good "professional" hose-end sprayer. If anyone knows of one, I may go this route. It kinda makes sense. You can have 1 200/300 gallon tank on your truck with just water. Then attach which-ever product you want to use (ideally applications that require high volume). Someone needs to design one of these with a mini backpack tank or fanny pack tank, swinging a half gallon of liquid back and forth can get tiresome on your arms, but is also a pain to constantly refill. just my thoughts.
