well you have to read the stick right. i know it sounds simple but the dipstick goes in at an angle so the oil line will not be straight across and even with the line on the dipstick. when it is full the oil will be up to the line only on one side and the other side of the stick the oil will be lower than the line. i hope that makes sense. i always put 2 qts in mine every oil change and it's at the full line.

When I added oil it was at the add line on the bottom. After it was like you said one side higher than the other at the full line. I hope that's right.
