Help, my grass is total nightmare

Hey Everyone,

This is the perfect thread for me. I also live in Middle TN and my coworker is having some grass issues.

So we have a couple of questions:

1. If we plant Bermuda right now, does it need to be covered in hay?
2. Can you spread it just on top of the ground or do you need to break up the ground to allow the seeds to root?
3. How long before you can mow over where the seeds are planted?
