Exmark just died while mowing ?

hey guys, got a lazer z hp, 17 hp kawasaki, 44" cut, 875 hrs, bought it used at 650 hrs, never had any problems with it, was on my last yard fri afternoon, and while mowing the mower just sputtered and quit, kinda like it was out out of gas.it would turn over but it wouldn't crank up i take it to the shop late fri afternoon and will probably here from them tomorrow. the mechanic said something like a flywheel, but i do know the battery tested good, any ideas to what could be my problem ? thanks alot

Could be a lot of things. Coils, safeties, fuel system, etc. Coils or interlock would be my first choices.

No offense, but it does have gas?

spray some starter fuild in the carb if she fires up and dies then I'd say its fuel related , if not then I'd say spark...and start checking the coils /safety switches etc.

Kenwin...you got things in the wrong order....
Shoulda asked us before dropping it off for repair...
Curious how your mechanic thinks the flywheel is bad....
Belt driven machines seldom shear flywheel keys...
And when they do...its usually after the engine backfires...

Yeah, you should have asked here first, cause these fellers know what they are talking about. And they dont mind helping a brother out.

Most likely fuel related.
I would have suspected the fuel filter.

just picked the mower up and the mechanic said it was the fuel solenoid, is this a common problem with the kawasaki engines ?
