There are quarry's all over NC. That would absolutely suck to have gravel shipped by rail.

There's a granite quarry about 10 miles outside of Greenville, NC.

Uniquely, yesterday I serviced 2 neighbors with gravel while posting this thread. I charged one $250 for about 6.5 ton which included using my Case 1835B to spread it over the driveway/parking area. Easy when you don't have to haul the skidsteer.
