Accidents do happen even with person at fault not even realizing. About 7 years ago, I was driving by a residential property where the owner was mowing, a couple of seconds later after passing the property I found myself crashed into someone's front lawn not being able to see out of my right eye.

Found out later that the mower picked up a mulch chip and rocketed towards me and hit dead center in my eye. The doctors and nurses spent hours digging wood splinter out of me. Lost my eye sight for about a week and a half to have it slowly come back (a miracle I think!)

Point is, no matter how careful you think you are being, anything and everything can happen wether you are insured or not insured. Do everyone a favor around you and get insured some how. The price of it is a lot cheaper then having to live with the consequences of not having it.

By the way, it was a 21" mower that shot the mulch chip, not some big commercial mower..

not wrong just took my 6 year old with me yesterday to help pick up branches while i cut the yard. he was about 30 feet away on the trim side of the mower and something hit him from the mower. thank god he was my kid and not the homeowners. no blood just a few tears. he loves to come help and have just a few lawns i take him on with. once hes old enough and can trim and blow, he wants to come help everyday, boy he just don't realize what he just got himself into never cut around pets or people. i would rather brake 100 windows than 1 person, plus it would probably be cheaper too

Glad to hear that you guys think what I did was right it was bothering me how she looked at me

I started at 12 and had commercial insurance and licensed at 16 so don't try and make me feel bad...not looking down on you just stating the facts. It IS possible to be insured at your age, just takes work.
Also had a commercial pesticide license at 16; keep that in your mind if you go that route.
Don't be afraid to get on the phone and call around, people will work with you. Good luck!

You did the right thing man. Sometimes you have to keep mowing when theres people outside (I.e. Commercial) but never when theres kids around. Its just not worth it. Whenever customer's kids come out I ask them to go back inside or to a different part of the yard.
Sorry to hijack your thread, but what would yall do when you have to blow off a smoking area where there are people sitting there smoking the majority of the time? The manager insists we blow it off every time but sometimes theres people there and they dont want to move. Just blow around them or what?
