P.S. Just picked up an 8500 today.
That's what I said above too.
Congrats on the new blower. You're gonna love that 8500.

Thanks I hope it does as well as everybody claims. I walked out in the rain and blew a few leaves under one of my trees and it moved them fine but not sure it did any better than our br600 would have done. Then again the engine is not broken in yet either. I think our br600 needs a valve adjustment. It does not seem to be as strong as it used to be. We have I guess 3 full seasons on it with no maintenance at all. Same spark plug, air filter, fuel filter and valves never been adjusted. God I love amsoil saber!!!!!!! Havent had a single issue with it in 3 years. I used to have to clean carbon out of the muffler and exhaust ports on all our echo equipment a minimum of 2 times a year. Have not had to do that once since switching to saber!

Yep, Saber runs very clean. I keep a close eye on the ehaust screens etc, and after a full season there's still nothing to clean off at all.

You probably won't see the big difference on a few leaves, or even a halfway decent layer of them since the 600 is a stout blower and handles them fine, but when you get to where you have over half a property windrowed up and are trying to move it to where you want to tarp them, that's when the bigger stronger blowers really come into their own and show what they can do, especially when the leaves are wet. Same thing with downed branches or dirt and gravel that gets plowed into lawns.

Did you get the tube or hip mounted throttle?

I got the tube mounted. They had both but I didn't want to deal with the hip mount. My father would have issues with it I am sure. Had one once and broke it on the trailer.

I just went back into the woods and had a go at some real leaves. They were thick and soaked and it made very short work of them.

Give it about 5-10 tankfulls. It'll get even stonger.

I always go for the tube mounted throttles. I just don't care for the hip mount, and see no real use for it. I know all the arguments about them being better for going between bushes etc, but I have yet to have any trouble with a tube mounted throttle, or to have any cables yanked out from snagging them.
