Older stained deck cleaning and sealing

Anyone got any tips for a homeowner to clean and protect?

Has some mold and mildew right now and was going to spray it with a bleach mix.

Then follow it up after it was dry with thompson's water seal.

This on the right track? We haves lowes store here in town so that's what I have to work with.
