I have a 5.3 Vortec Chevy that pulled every day of it's life from the previous owner. Still pulls every day with me. Pulling with 250,000 miles on the clock. Absolutely zero problems since I've owned it. (Besides Maintenance and Minor.) Although it did break a weld on the exhaust yesterday, had to weld it back up today!

There's some factory freak 6.0 strokes out there that last into the 250k range, but they're uncommon. After you do head gaskets, studs, EGR delete, a new oil cooler, and probably injectors, you've got a motor that will hang wih the 7.3 longevity-wise, but you don't have to dump $6k into a 7.3 to make it last.

My 99 7.3 now has 279k miles and I have an 09 f250 with the 5.4 gas with 230,700 miles. Running strong

I'd update this ol' thread with my Chevy's over 300k on the clock from last years post, with multiple trips to Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. Had a tranny go out in the mean time, but the engines still kicking.

You put 50,000 miles on it in 6 months?
