I dont own one but ive driven them before for a construction company I used to work for. Milage does suck, however if you would delete the emissons bullshit you would be getting the same miles you would in any other diesel...

I have the 450 and love it. I didn't get it to do 110 but I can pull anything I put behind it.

F-550 weighing in at 14,000 pounds with tools and crane. Runs like a champ but had lots of problems early on (new turbo, radiator, exhaust sensors) but I found the best Ford diesel shop in NC I'm sure. It gets 8-9 mpg but it will pull anything and do it with a smile. I love it, but I wish it got better mileage.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that higher ratio rear ends will NEVER get anything past 12-13.
For what its worth, the mileage y'all are getting is actually pretty good when you compare it to dodge and chevy. Delete the emissions and get a good tune for it and watch those numbers climb. |
