Back to the question at hand, have your dealer get up to spec on proper specs for Velocity Plus decks. So many people mention that they have their decks pitched. Velocity Plus decks should be level, not pitched.

http://www.scag.com/OpManuals/SVR/20...Book_03259.pdf (note page 22)

That being established, I doubt the pitch is the culprit of all of your problems. Check baffles and belt tension, and be sure those G6 blades are sharpened regularly. By design G6 (or any Atomic style mulching blade) isn't going to create the lift of a high lift blade, and when dull, are going to perform noticeably worse.
the G6s and high lifts were cutting the same. i bought regular lifts and leveled the deck with no pitch, seems to cut alittle better. will see what it does tomorrow

I've been having the same problem as the original poster, I haven't got my new blades in yet, but I have sharpened and checked everything. Adjusted the pitch and level and it still leaving stragglers and looking weird. My questions are could the above quote be true? Week grass? We had a terrible drought all summer, now everything's green and lush again but the grass is rather weak. Additionally how do you check the belt tension properly?

leveled the deck and seems to cut alot better, still a few stragglers but i can llive with that the bump of bent over uncut grass is gone so im happy. now the mower clumps and the far inside chamber gets really packed with grass and clumps come flying out at ever turn. mower cant handle wet or even very slightly wet grass, i don't know why no morning dew this morning but grass still was alittle damp barley got my shoes wet kinda of damp, and my first 3 yards deck got completely clogged and had to scrape it out each time, can't wait to see what the morning spring dew would do to this mower.
the only this i haven't check was to compare the deck belt to a new deck belt mine looks fine and the dealer thought it was fine and the spring tensioner but it looked good also.

Have you installed any sort of mulch plug or the hurricane kit? Or possibly adjusted any baffles? Clumping isn't a common issue on these decks, double check the baffles.

i know thats why i bought the mower in the first place. just go the mower and there is no mulching attachments on it, just the front baffle. ive had the baffle in the highest lowest and 2 different middle settings and all seem to clog the deck pretty good especially the trim side chamber going to try some pam tomorrow and see if it helps
something just seems wrong with it and i cant put my finger on it yet

Been reading post on this. When I was cutting both my Scags cut wet grass excellent. Yes they did clog the deck, so did every other mower I used. But this was only in some conditions. After reading the first post I put on a new set of Oregon blades and they are medium lift. They cut like crap and leave a strip between the left blade and the center blade. But its only in very tall grass like the air is blowing the grass down. In thick fescue and not so tall cuts perfect. Put the old blades back on which were Gators it cut perfect. Mine problem is air flow and only in some conditions.

seems like everytime i get to the end of my stripe and turn grass just falls down out of my deck and there is a hug pile of grass at the end of my stripe and double cutting that just throw he crap into my stripes that was with regular lifts, tried G6's again today with no morning dew, just alittle damp and clumped all over the yard, had to double cut and then blow out some areas, mower cut fine all day but can't handle wet damp grass, new dealer today was no help,he said i was doing to much to the mower. and i said if it would not clump i wouldn't mess with it so much

rpms 3680
deck level
hi lift blades new
tires inflated 8psi
spindles spin freely
belt looks good
belt tensioner looks good
deck is clean
baffles set at factory height in the middles

still clumps pretty bad in the morning
