Yeah, luckily I found this thread so I will bring along the computer when I go back over there.

They quoted me almost $16k for a 72" with the 37hp. Same mower, but in the big dog or bad dog version was $14k. Supposed to pick up a 61" 35hp bb cheetah on monday, might hold off if I can get a super z for under $10.5k.

You want get the big block 72" for probably much less than $11,400.00 after tax is added. That is about as close as they will cut their profit margin, and if it is not a pretty big dealer, they will not go that low. If I was told correctly, and I think I was, there was a price increase by Hustler in June of this year.

I don't want, or have the need for a 72" regardless. Another reason why I chose not to go with hustler was the dealer. I think he just wanted to get rid of the 2 72's he is stuck with right now. I hate to not get a super z, but I can get a cheetah for $10.3k out the door. Hustler dealers can't touch that where I am. Really sucks cause I have a FTSD now, and wanted to match, but oh well.

It sounds to me as if your Hustler dealer is the biggest problem in your area, believe me they can sell you a mower; it's only a matter of them not trying to make more profit on the sell of one mower than two.

Not trying to change you mine on what you want ,but the prices you are talking about have you considered a diesel? If hustler is what you want i dont think there diesels are much more than a big gas. I have heard that the BB gas motors suck alot of fuel. If you are useing it much at all the fuel saving would alow you a little higher payment.

The last month or two i'm broke down at least 1 time a week if not 2. I just cant run a business like that.

Instead the treatment i get is when the new motor was put on it took almost 3 months and i was charged for new oil and filter because "A new crate motor isn't ship with oil in it" i said well the blown up one has it in it don't it. The engine bolts loosing up and snapping of on the block they actually tryed to charge me 400 to fix. They said they were not liable because "All bolts on the mower are to be retouqed after 50 hrs" . I got hustler involved and they offered to pay half.I said thanks for the half but i should be paying anything. After 45 mins cussing the poor rep on the phone they finally paid all but $25, but gave me some blades and filters for my aggravation.

Long story short Hustler as a company did a little bit for me.BUT,the two mowers have cost me more money than enough, and what was worse than hustler was the crook dealer i dealt with. It has been preached on here over and over and over .When buying a new mower by with a good dealer. When i bought these mowers i was told if it was broke down more than a day i would get a loaner. I got one 2 xs. I hate to say it because there are good mowers out there but i don't think as of now i will by anything but deere ,toro, kubota. because they are big enough to be able to do something for you. If there is a hustler rep on here i hope you are reading this!!!!!!
I have a hard time believeing this crap! Hustler has about the best designed Z's to ever hit the market. if you cannot turn a wrench or have some one who can for you you should probably be in another business. Half of being in lawn maintenance is being able to fix your own mowing equipment at a reasonable rate.

I bought the Hustlers because they are easy to wrench if anything should go wrong. All my other z's were much harder to wrench.

You can believe what you want. For your information i can turn a wrench, I've been turning wrenchs my whole life, infact thats why i got into lawncare i was burned out on working at my dads shop. My point is if i paid 12600 for a new mower with a warrenty i shouldnt have to turn a wrench the dealer should, infact its new it should need a wrench on it. If i wanted to turn a wrench and be broke down all the time i'd save myself alot of money and buy used. And you can say there easy to work on, but i dont think so. To put a hydro belt on in the feild i cant even get up under it without jacking it up its so low. To put a throttle cable on they put the linkage about a 1/2 inch from the muffler. I guess that's easy to change too when the mowers been running all morning. The whole reason i even bought the first one was becuase i had 2 exmarks(2000 hrs and 1500hrs) that i had to work on here and there. They were easy to work on,but broke down every couple weeks. I try to run a reliable bussiness not one where i have to say to my customers "I'm sorry i'm 2 days late my mower was broke down".

I also never said until this post that they were a bad designed mower. I to liked alot about them, I am just stateing the 2 i have had were total garbage.

I had a dealer locally that wanted to unload one on me for 10.2 with a 37 72.. The economy here is crashing so I will not purchase.
