Kawasaki KAI 16.0 running on one cylinder

I have a scag 36 WB with said engine that for the last year has bogged down but would come alove within 5min well this year it always has ran like that Looked into it and turns out 1 cylinder is down plug is wet can start the mower and un plug that plug and it still runs like its running so it is the problem........question is where do i go from here if i dont wanna take it in?
and for the record this machine is 2 years old with about 40 hours on it

That's a rather unusual occurrence with only 40 hours on a new unit. Have you tried a new plug? If not, you may want to try that first.

Do you have a spark checker? If not, here's a link to one that you can get from NAPA or possibly other auto supply houses. You can use it to verify spark at the plug.

If you don't have spark, remove the blower housing and disconnect the kill leads to the coil and check again. If still no spark, replace the CDI(coil).

If you do have spark, you may have a valve that is hung up. That can be verified by a compression check on the affected cylinder or by pulling the valve cover and checking valve travel. Again, I'd say this is rather unusual for 40 hours unless you find the coiling fins sufficiently blocked with grass/debris which can cause the engine to overheat--leading to stuck valves.

Yes i have tried new plugs, Pretty sure its gonna be a coil issue I will be taking it to a buddy whos a mechanic tonight to try and track down for sure will let yall know tonite

~Glad you found the issue..I would have said bad coil too~
What the heck is up with Kawasaki eating up coils~
I don't think I've seen & heard of so many coils dropping in one year...and the year isn't over yet~!
